Men’s Health Partnership

It is widely observed that men seek healthcare services only when their pain is severe. With the rapid growth of various cancers such as Prostate cancer, these practices will only increase the untimely rate of mortality amongst men in the middle to old age gap due to lack of screening for cancer and other non-communicable diseases. Alma Foundation through its community network partners such as religious groups and other organized locally-based organizations, have arranged health educational program events and rapid free screenings to create awareness and encourage men to play a more proactive role in their health.

Teenage Pregnancy & Sexual health

Teenage pregnancy is alarmingly reaching girls as young as 10 years of age in most developing countries. Reasons for such concerning statistics vary from lack of health education, rape and poverty where older men with financial resources take advantage of girls from underprivileged backgrounds. Healthcare practitioners mistreatment of younger girls seeking family planning services, parents unwillingness to discuss family planning due to cultural and religious beliefs and other unknown reasons all lead to growing  statistics of young girls becoming mothers. This often leads to birthing complications, infants born with complications and further widening poverty cycles. We partner with local organizations to build awareness within these communities and involve parents, teenagers, community healthcare practitioners and corporates.
